2 photos of Dessa from rap crew Doomtree. Done by 2 different photographers. Taken within seconds of each other. The photo on the left was taken by friend and fellow photographer Chad Kamenshine; and the photo on the right was taken by me. When I had the chance to shoot Doomtree in NYC, I ran into Chad before the show. He and I met in the pit during the Fall 2014 Boston Calling Music Fest; so it was a pleasure sharing the (theoretical) pit with him during the show and it's amazing to see the difference between the images we took. I always enjoy seeing someone else's take on the same subject. It's a exciting feeling seeing someone else's photos and thinking, "I got that same shot just on a different angle," and you can see that in this photo. Everyone has their own style and way of doing things; it makes the art of photography that much more enlightening and enjoyable. The tale that is told in photographs always differs between photographers; and there's no right way to tell it. I highly recommend checking out his awesome photos over at his site and see his take of the show. You can see how much of a different story that is told between our photos. And just as a heads up, both stories tell awesome the guys of Doomtree really are.
